Ramadan is almost here!! This is my second year having a calendar for Safa. She’s even more excited as she actually remembers it and is really excited for it. I try to make it pretty simple as is my goal for most of my home decor. This year since we’re staying home as much as we can I wanted utilize all that I had at home. I found this garland I had bought a little while ago from Hobby Lobby and these burlap bags that were never used for party favors. I simply used a sharpie to label all of them. For the inserts, I’m going to try to use as much as I can but will order a few new things for Safa to be excited. At the end I have some treat ideas!

Inspiration Ideas

To the right I have attached some inspiration pictures. The first few are all ideas you can implement at home with some simple items like party favor boxes, envelopes, or brown paper bags. In order they are from Pinterest, Hanas Happy Home, Crate and Barrel, @aisha.xoxo, Iman Blogs, and my own.

Good Deeds Inserts

There are many good deed inserts out there. I wanted to create my own this year targeted towards preschoolers and kindergarteners. Best part is that its free! I wanted to include a range of activities that included helping the family out, learning about the specialties about Ramadan, learning new Duas and about our Prophets, showing appreciation and love for others and appreciation for the Earth and all we’ve been given. I want her to learn these values instead of just getting treats everyday. This will teach her a lot about Ramadan while also giving her a fun treat! If you do use it, please make sure to tag me on Instagram! Here is the link for the PDF! Below is a preview of the first page!

Treats and Prizes Suggestions

I am in the process of getting all the treats and prices for Safa now. I like to have a variety of treats and prizes. I do include candy and sweets but I don’t want that to be the focus. I want to give her fun treats and rewards that she truly cherishes but also provide her connection with Here are some of my ideas and suggestions.

  1. Candy and Chocolates

  2. Stickers and Tattoos

  3. Collectibles: Small Cars, Characters of a TV show

  4. Arts and Crafts: New items

  5. Increasing Connection: Extra Books at bedtime, Special Date Night with Mama or Baba, Special Activity with Mama or Baba.

  6. Islamic Movie Night, Extra time to play games on a computer, extra tv show etc.

  7. Any favorite item your child likes. Safa loves nail polish, hair clips and fun dress up accessories.

Hope this gives you guys some fun ideas to get your kids involved with Ramadan. This is simply to motivate them to participate in good deeds during Ramadan and also teaching them some valuable lessons in a lighthearted way! Happy Ramadan Crafting!!
